Cancer patients get right to private consultation.
Healthcare Market News - Prime Minister Gordon Brown is expected to announce today that patients faced with long waits for cancer treatment will be given the right to see a private consultant.

The move is part of a new document, Building Britain's Future, which aims to give a more consumer-orientated focus to public services. It is expected to include six new rights for patients, including some that have already been announced such as the 18-week wait for planned surgery, free health checks at the age of 40 and a two week wait for suspected cancer patients.
